So Amazing!!!

Here is a good before picture to compare to. This is Evan a little over 1 year ago at our cousin's wedding. That is my older son Gabriel who was the ring bearer and the flower girl dancing. Evan is joining in. Anyway, notice how high on his tip toe he is with the left foot, that is how he was until we did the first round of serial casting, it only lasted a few weeks of him being flat footed. Then we did the botox and he was doing well, and now since the serial casting he is doing even better.

We are done with serial casting for this round. It was a total of two weeks of casting. This round really bothered Evan at night because the were stretching a different muscle. But it is so amazing to see him walking flat footed. His gait is not perfect but he is flat on both feet which I know is great and will help his hip and back alignment in the long run. Here are some videos.

The injections and serial casting combined should last for about 4-6 months, we will see because the last round of casting lasted less than a month. But we are trying to be more dilligent with his AFO's because they give him the suppport that he needs. But I have noticed something that I suspected would happen which is that instead of toe walking he is now starting to drag the left foot. Another reason to keep the AFO's on as long as he will tolerate them. He is pretty darn cute isn't he?
